C | いっぽう立憲民主党・打越さく良参院議員（58）は、自身が弁護士であることを引き合いに出し、杉尾氏の発言にこう反応している。《（弁護士なら「まあ食べていけるだろう」と言われることもあります。でも実際には、顧問先を打ち切り、受任中の事件を他の弁護士にお願いし、まっさらな状態にならなければ、国政選挙には挑みにくく、リスクはある…）　いわんや、勤務先を辞めて立候補する方のリスクは、なおさら大きい。幅広い方にチャレンジしてほしい。でも、リスクがあることも事実です。それでも決意し、たとえ敗れても、翌日から街頭に立つ仲間たち。心から、リスペクト。各地の仲間を支えていただけるとありがたいです》前出の全国紙政治部記者は言う。「杉尾氏は衆院選で敗北した“仲間”をフォローするつもりで、高市早苗首相（64）が約1年3カ月で衆院解散に踏み切ったことを批判したかったのかもしれません。
